From Acton to South Boston — A Culinary Journey
Sushi Guys opened on September 20, 2024, at 283 Old Colony Ave in South Boston—just blocks from where I went to high school. Before that, we ran Tobiko Japanese Fusion in Acton, MA, where we were voted #1 sushi by the Readers Choice Awards and featured in the Boston Globe. Bringing sushi back to my hometown felt like the perfect way to give back to the community I’ve always loved.
Meet the Founders
Sushi Guys was started by me, Jaimie Thang, and Cary Wong. From day one, Lyn Thang and Andy Phomsouvandara have been part of the family, working with us since opening and still helping part-time today. Their loyalty and heart have helped shape the warm, welcoming vibe our guests love. Behind every great sushi roll is a team that truly cares—and we’re proud to be that team.
Sushi with Soul — What We’re Known For
Sushi Guys is best known for sushi that’s flavorful, fresh, and thoughtfully made. We’re proud of our efforts to offer healthier options while delivering bold flavor. My personal favorites? Volcano Island Maki, scallop sashimi, and SU Berman Maki. Your favorites? Spicy crab salad, red crab salad maki, castle maki, and sushi regular. Whether new or loyal, you’ll always feel like family here.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community
We can’t say this enough—thank you. Every customer who walks through our door is special to us. You come in your 30s, share your stories, your laughter, and return not just for the food, but for the warmth. That’s what matters most. We’re honored to be part of your lives, and we look forward to many more memories, moments, and meals shared together at Sushi Guys.
